Pour & Explore: South Shore Stories

There’s something about the South Shore of Lake Chelan that invites you to slow down and stay awhile. Maybe it’s the rolling vineyards backed by glittering lake views. Maybe it’s the way every winery has a story to tell—one that pulls you in with every pour. This month, we’re heading back to the South Shore to explore three incredible spots, each offering something a little different: award-winning wines, live music, rooftop views, handcrafted bites, and experiences that go way beyond the glass.

Larc Hill Vineyard Ranch

It’s hard to talk about Larc Hill without mentioning the view, but there’s a lot more happening here than just a picture-perfect backdrop. Since opening their tasting room in 2022, Larc Hill has been steadily gaining fans with their laid-back atmosphere, six acres of estate vineyards, and a lineup of award-winning wines. It’s also one of the South Shore’s best event destinations.

Summer is shaping up to be a busy one, so be sure to mark your calendar for upcoming live music nights, the Chelan Cares Country Jam, and Firefighter Appreciation Night. Whether you’re sipping a crisp white on the patio or catching a sunset with friends, Larc Hill makes it easy to soak in the moment.

Tsillan Cellars & Sorrento’s Ristorante

Just down the road, Tsillan Cellars offers an entirely different experience—steeped in history, romance, and old-world charm. As one of the first wineries established in the Lake Chelan Wine Valley, Tsillan (pronounced “Shu-lan”) has become a cornerstone of the local wine scene. The 135-acre estate is home to 20-year-old vines, Tuscan-inspired architecture, and koi ponds to boot. With a track record of producing award-winning wines year after year, this is a spot where both new and seasoned wine lovers feel right at home.

Adjacent to the winery is Sorrento’s Ristorante, where you can enjoy handcrafted pastas, bold reds, and vineyard views that elevate every meal. With Wine Club perks like dining discounts and exclusive tastings, it’s the kind of place you’ll want to return to again and again.

Sigillo Cellars

Sigillo Cellars brings a unique flair to the South Shore, operating out of the Historic Lakeside Schoolhouse with a space that’s both family-friendly and full of charm. Founded by two brothers and a friend who believed wine should be experienced, not just tasted, Sigillo offers a lineup of Bordeaux and Rhône varietals perfect for every palate.

Their location shares space with a restaurant, so you can pair your tasting with anything from small bites to a full meal. And in the summer months, their rooftop deck becomes a favorite hangout for relaxing with a glass and taking in the lake view. With new wine releases on the way this May, it’s a great time to stop in and see what’s new.

The South Shore Experience

What ties these South Shore wineries together isn’t just the location—it’s the feeling you get when you’re there. Welcoming. Relaxed. Full of good conversation and even better wine. Whether you’re planning a casual day trip or a weekend escape, these stops offer a blend of history, heart, and handcrafted hospitality that’ll make you want to linger just a little longer.
